I came out here to do a Master's in Middle Eastern Studies at the American University of Beirut, after working 5 years for ABC News. Upon my arrival, the country's relative period of post-civil war piece ended with the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. This blog is a record of what I witnessed throughout the three years of being here while working on my thesis. It also is an archive for pieces which were published in the international press.
